(A) Creation. There is hereby created by the City of Washington a Fire Department Donation Fund.
(B) Purpose. The purpose of the Fund shall be to receive donations from individuals or entities, which donations shall be used by the Washington Fire Department for various purposes. These purposes may include community outreach programs and projects, purchase of additional equipment, instruction and training, and providing matching funds for any grants which the Department may receive.
(C) Receipt of donations. The Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer are hereby authorized to receive donations in the form of cash or other property, to convert that other property into cash, and to pay bills and charges as they become due for the above-stated purposes.
