§ 30.01  PRESIDENT AND TRUSTEES; QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES.
   (A)   The chief executive officer of the village shall be the President, who shall have the qualifications required in §§ 30.20 through 30.27, and who shall hold his or her office for the term of four years and until his or her successor is elected and qualified. During a temporary absence or disability of the President, the Board of Trustees may elect one of its members to act as President Pro Tem who, during such absence or disability, shall possess the powers of President.
   (B)   (1)   The President may exercise, within the village limits, the power conferred upon the Sheriff to suppress disorder and keep the peace.
      (2)   He or she shall perform all such duties as are or may be prescribed by law or by the provisions of this code, and shall take care that the laws and ordinances are faithfully executed.
      (3)   He or she shall have power at all times to examine and inspect the books, records, and papers of any agent, employee, or officer of the village.
      (4)   He or she shall, annually and from time to time, give the Board of Trustees information relative to the affairs of the village and shall recommend for its consideration such measures as he or she may deem expedient.
   (C)   A Board of Trustees shall be elected, consisting of six members who shall have the qualifications required in §§ 30.20 through 30.27, who shall hold his or her office for the term of four years. Three Trustees shall be elected in the election year in which a President of the village is elected and three Trustees shall be elected two years following the election of the President of the village. In the event there is a vacancy in the office of Trustee, the President shall appoint an individual who shall have the qualifications required in §§ 30.20 through 30.27 to fill out the term of that Trustee.
