§ 152.02 PERMIT REQUIRED.
   (A)   Except as otherwise provided in this code, any person wishing to erect a sign shall first obtain a permit from the city. The purpose of permitting signage in the city is because signs greatly shape the character and quality of the environment and community. As a historic community, this city is unique. The proper control of signs is therefore important in order to maintain that historical value and appreciation. Application shall be made to the Zoning Administrator on forms provided by the city. At the time of application, the applicant shall pay a fee as set forth in the city's schedule of fees to the Records Secretary. At the request of the Zoning Administrator, two blueprints or ink drawings of the plans and specifications and method of construction and attachment to the building or in the ground shall be submitted with the application. At the request of the Zoning Administrator, a copy of stress sheets and calculations showing how the structure is designed for dead load and wind pressure in any direction in the amount required by this and all other laws and ordinances of the city shall be submitted with the application.
   (B)   If a complete sign permit application is found by the Zoning Administrator to be consistent with this code, the permit shall be granted.
   (C)   Each permit issued shall be valid as long as the sign is installed within six months of permit issuance.
