(A) Every resident motor vehicle operated within the corporate limits of the town during any one calendar year, shall be registered with the Town Clerk.

(B) (1) The period of registration shall include the 12-month period from January 1 to December 31.
(2) The fee for the registration shall be $3.

(C) The provisions of this section shall not apply:
(1) To any motor vehicle temporarily operated within the town for a period of time not exceeding 30 days during any one calendar year;
(2) To any motor vehicle operated for display or exhibition purposes by any motor vehicle dealer or salespersons; nor
(3) To any motor vehicle owned by any member of the Volunteer Fire Department, who displays a fire fighter's plate.
