1501.14 INSTALLATION OF FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS; PERMIT REQUIRED; APPLICATION FEE.
   (a)   Fire Prevention System Defined. A fire prevention system is defined as all systems, devices and equipment employed to detect a fire, actuate an alarm or suppress or control a fire, or any combination thereof.
   (b)   Permit Required. No person, including but not limited to, contractors, subcontractors, builders, building contractors, electricians, electrical contractors, plumbers and plumbing and heating contractors, shall engage in new construction, renovation or remodeling of existing structures within the Municipality or supervise the same, where said new construction, renovation or remodeling of an existing structure requires the installation of a fire suppression system, unless such person has first secured a permit to do so.
   (c)   Permit Application. Application for a permit required by subsection (b) hereof shall be made to the Fire Department and shall state the name of the applicant, the firm name, if any, and the place of business, and shall be accompanied by the license fee set forth herein.
   (d)   Permit Fee. The applicant shall submit with each application the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00), which sum represents the permit fee. The permit fee shall cover the cost of processing the application, reviewing the construction plans and specifications and inspecting the final construction.
