2-1-4: RULES AND REGULATIONS; POWERS AND DUTIES GENERALLY:

The Board of Fire and Police Commissions shall make all necessary rules and regulations and shall make all appointments of sworn police officers. Appointment and demotion of the Chief of Police shall be made by the Mayor and City Council. Dismissal of police officers from the department shall be in the manner provided by State law. All promotions shall be in the manner provided by State law. (Ord. 1276, 9-20-93)
