1-9-2: CONFLICTS OF INTEREST AND DISCLOSURES:
   A.   All officers and employees of the city shall comply with all pertinent and applicable state laws regarding conflicts of interest and economic disclosure, including, without limitation, 5 Illinois Compiled Statutes 420/4A-101 et seq., 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-74.4-1 et seq., 5/3.1-55-10 and 50 Illinois Compiled Statutes 105/1, as now existing or hereafter amended.
   B.   No elected or appointed official or employee of the city, whether paid or unpaid, shall engage in any business or transaction or shall have a financial or other personal interest, direct or indirect, which is incompatible with the proper discharge of his official duties in the public interest.
No elected or appointed official of the city, whether paid or unpaid, shall vote or attempt to influence the vote of others with respect to any business or transaction which may benefit such official or shall have financial or other personal interest, direct or indirect, which is incompatible with the proper discharge of his official duties in the public interest or would tend to impair his independence of judgment or action in the performance of his official duties, and which is not fully disclosed to all other city officials who will vote on any matter which may benefit such official. Such disclosure shall occur in writing to the city clerk before any such vote shall take place. (Ord. 2040, 2-18-2003)
