7-3-2-2: ANIMALS PROHIBITED AT CITY SPONSORED EVENTS:
No animal shall be permitted to be on the premises of a city sponsored event except an animal used in business related demonstrations or amusements, which has been properly licensed as hereinafter provided.
Any person who desires to use an animal in a business related demonstration or amusement during the course of a city sponsored event shall apply for a license to do so. The application for a license shall identify: a) the business related demonstration or amusement; b) the type of animal to be used; c) the area where the animal will be located; d) the applicant's name and business address; e) the city sponsored event for which a license is sought; and f) such other information as the city administrator shall deem necessary to process the license request. A fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) shall accompany each such license request. No license request may be submitted less than two (2) working days prior to the city sponsored event.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, animals specifically trained to assist a handicapped person (e.g., seeing eye dogs) shall be permitted at city sponsored events without being licensed pursuant to this section. (Ord. 1448, 11-20-1995)
