The Chief of Police is authorized to suspend parking restrictions in any area of the City where, in the reasonable judgment of the Chief of Police, such suspension is warranted due to extraordinary circumstances. As used herein, the term "extraordinary circumstances" shall mean nonrecurring events that adversely affect vehicular parking in a particular area of the City, including construction in the public right-of- way, special City sponsored events, public safety emergencies or other extraordinary circumstances. Should the suspension of parking restrictions exceed thirty (30) days, the suspension shall require the approval of the City Administrator. (Ord. 2227, 7-5-2005)
