4-1-6: AUXILIARY POLICEMEN:
The mayor, with the advice and consent of the corporate authorities, may appoint auxiliary policemen in such manner as the corporate authorities shall from time to time deem necessary.
Such auxiliary policemen shall not be members of the regular police department of the city and shall have those powers set forth in and shall be subject to provisions of the Illinois municipal code 1 . (Ord. 444, 7-16-1979)
