§ 32.01  APPOINTMENT OF PUBLIC PARK BOARD.
   (A)   The Town Council shall, at any time it deems expedient, appoint a Board for the control and management of any public parks within the corporate limits of the town.
   (B)   The Board shall consist of four members to be appointed by the President of the Town Council.  The members shall be appointed on the basis of their interest in and knowledge of parks and recreation, but no more than two members may be affiliated with the same political party.  Terms shall be for four years, with initial appointments staggered as set forth in IC 36-10-3-5(a).  As a term expires, each new appointment shall be for four years.  All terms shall expire on the first Monday in January, but a member shall continue in office until his successor is appointed.  If a vacancy occurs, the Council President shall appoint a person to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term.  (IC 36-10-3-3 - 36-10-3-6)
   (C)   Such Board of Public Park Trustees shall possess all the powers and perform all the duties that may now or hereafter be conferred by law upon such a board.
