§ 53.40  PIPE AND JOINT SPECIFICATIONS.
   (A)   The building sewer shall be SDR-35 or better pipe, vitrified clay sewer pipe, ASTM specification or equal; or other suitable material approved by the Inspector.  Joints  shall  be  tight and  waterproof.  Any part of the building sewer that is located within ten feet of a water service pipe shall be constructed of SDR-35 or better pipe.  ('83 Code, § 4-3 I. B. 10.) 
   (B)   All joints and connections shall be made gastight and watertight.  All joints in vitrified clay pipe or between such pipe and metals shall be made with approved jointing material in accordance with the latest edition of Volume II, Plumbing Rules and Regulations of the State Administrative Building Council.  Other jointing materials and methods may be used only by approval of the Inspector.
