(a) Building inspectors shall be responsible for the examination of plans, the issuance or refusal of permits under applicable provisions of the ordinances of the City and the laws of the State, the inspection of buildings, and such other powers as are or may hereafter be conferred upon building inspectors, plumbing inspectors or electrical inspectors by the ordinances of the City or the laws of the State.
(b) A building inspector shall keep, or cause to be kept, a record of the business of his or her office. His or her records shall be open to public inspection during regular business hours.
(c) The Director of Public Service and Safety may promulgate such rules and regulations as he or she may deem necessary to supplement or aid in the interpretation of the requirements of this Building Code, which regulations shall be consistent herewith.
