Applications for building contractor’s licenses shall be upon such form and provide such information as prescribed by the Building Official, and shall be accompanied by $200 for the first two-year period, and $80 for each subsequent two-year period. Such fees shall be submitted along with the application and shall be credited to the General Operating Fund of the city. Applicants shall procure and maintain a liability insurance policy in the amount of $1,000,000 covering bodily injury and property damage on a combined single limit basis. Such policies of insurance shall be issued by an insurance company authorized to do business in the State of Kansas. A building contractor may qualify as to the insurance requirements by filing a certificate with the Building Official executed by the resident agent of such company, stating that the required policy of insurance has been issued by such company for the purpose required by this article and that such insurer will not cancel the policy except upon giving 30 days’ notice in writing to the city.
