(a) It shall be unlawful for the owner, lessee, occupant or person in charge of any premises in the city to possess and maintain any undomesticated animal or possess and maintain any horses, mules, cattle, sheep, goats, swine or chickens.
(b) The provisions of this section shall not apply to the maintaining of a stockyard or sales barn for the loading, unloading, temporary detention and sale of such livestock, or the maintaining of said animals in proper facilities by hatcheries or persons engaged in raising the same for recognized animal husbandry purposes if the location of such facility does not otherwise violate the zoning laws of the city.
(c) The provisions of this article shall not apply to possessing and maintaining of horses, mules, cattle, sheep or goats on a pasture or other enclosure having an area of five or more acres where permitted by the zoning laws of the city, and where the number of such livestock does not exceed the number of acres in such pasture or enclosure.
