§ 17-703 USE REGULATIONS.
   (a)   General farm operations. This shall not include or permit:
      (1)   Any activity within 300 feet of another residential district which activity is noxious or offensive by reason of dust, odor, or noise.
   (b)   Registered family day care.
   (c)   Single-family non-farm dwellings.
   (d)   Residential design manufactured homes.
   (e)   Foster homes.
   (f)   Group homes.
   (g)   Temporary structures incidental to construction work but only for the period of work. Basements and cellars may not be occupied for residential purposes until the building is completed.
   (h)   Golf courses, except miniature golf courses or driving tees.
   (i)   Public parks, playgrounds, and recreational areas owned and operated by a public agency.
   (j)   Customary accessory uses and structures located on the same lot with the principal use including tennis courts, swimming pools, private garages, garden houses, barbecue ovens, and fireplaces.
   (k)   The following non-farm uses may be allowed by special use permit when submitted, reviewed, and approved by the Board of Zoning appeals, and under such conditions as the Board may impose:
      (1)   Accessory buildings on the rear half of non-farm residence building sites used as private storerooms, wood sheds, workshops, laundries, playhouses, greenhouses, poultry or animal shelters, and other similar or related accessory uses; provided, however, that there shall be not more than three buildings allowed in addition to private garages as accessory to any non-farm, single-family residence, subject to limitations specified in division (3) below.
      (2)   Raising and care of livestock for show and pleasure.
      (3)   The following limitations are applicable to issuance of special use permits in divisions (1) and (2) above:
         (A)   When an "R-L" District or a portion thereof is reclassified to another more restrictive residential zone, all those uses granted by special use permit for animal shelters or similar related uses in division (1) above and those uses granted under division (2) above shall be completely discontinued within a period of six months from the date of reclassification.
         (B)   Uses permitted in division (2) above shall not be kept for commercial purposes.
         (C)   Livestock permitted in division (2) above shall be properly sheltered and proper sanitation shall be maintained at all times.
         (D)   Livestock cages or pens permitted in division (2) above shall not be closer than 50 feet from any residence.
      (4)   Adult day care.
      (5)   Churches and similar places of worship.
      (6)   Home occupations.
      (7)   Hospitals for people on a lot, plot, or tract of land five acres or larger.
      (8)   Licensed day care homes.
      (9)   Nursing home, assisted living facilities, sanitarium, rest home, homes for the aged, or convalescent home on a lot, plot, or tract of land five acres or larger.
      (10)   Preschools.
      (11)   Raising of trees, shrubs, and grasses not sold on the premises.
      (12)   Schools - public or parochial, elementary, junior high and high schools, and private schools with equivalent curriculum.
      (13)   Cemetery.
      (14)   Any public building erected or land used by any department of the city, county, state, or federal government.
      (15)   Child care centers.
      (16)   Bed and breakfast.
      (17)   Catering business.
