The Building Official/Codes Enforcement Officer may approve installation of double check-double gate valve assemblies with test cocks, as protective devices against backflow in connections between a potable water system and other fluid systems which present no significant health hazard in the judgment of the Building Official/Code Enforcement Officer. Approved double check valve assemblies may be used on lawn irrigation systems if no means of injecting chemicals is incorporated.
