§ 15-317 WATER SUPPLY; HAZARDS; PURITY OR POTABILITY.
   (a)   The Superintendent of Distribution and the plumbing inspector are hereby authorized to discontinue or cause to be discontinued, all the water service or services to any and all premises, lands, buildings or structures where it is found that an immediate hazard exists to the purity or potability of the city water supply.
   (b)   The Superintendent of Water Distribution and the plumbing inspector are hereby authorized and directed to take such steps as are necessary to avoid all potential hazards to the purity or potability of the city water supply. Upon determining that a hazard or potential hazard exists, it shall be their duty to immediately cause notice to go to the owner or such other person as may be responsible for the premises, specifying the hazards and stating that if the hazard is not corrected within 30 days from the date of the notice, all water services shall be discontinued thereafter until the requirements of this code shall have been complied with.
