§ 1-419 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE.

(a) The Department of Public Welfare is established to administer the affairs of the city pertaining to protection of the health of the inhabitants of the city and to abatement of nuisances and unsanitary conditions within the city.

(b) The Board of Health and Health Officer shall exercise the powers and duties provide for them by the laws of the state and by ordinances of the city.
