§ 12-101 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this article, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   CEMETERY. A burial park for earth interments, or tomb interments.
   COLUMBARIUM. An above ground vault with niches for placement and perpetual storage of funeral urns.
   COLUMBARIUM INTERMENT. The permanent placement of a funeral urn containing the cremated remains of a person, in a columbarium niche.
   INTERMENT. The permanent disposition of the remains of a deceased person by burial, by cremation, interment and burial, or by entombment.
   LOT. Numbered tracts within the cemetery as shown on the record plat, consisting of one or more spaces and grouped into a cemetery section.
   LOT MARKER. A concrete post used by the cemetery to locate the corner of a lot.
   MONUMENT. A tombstone or memorial of granite or marble.
   OPENING/CLOSING. Removal of earth for an interment and replacing of earth over the burial vault or urn, as specified in this article.
   SECTION. The primary subdivision of the cemetery, composed of a collection of numbered lots.
   SPACE. An area for one interment (usually four feet by 11 feet) grouped with other spaces to form a cemetery lot.
