1488.01   DETECTORS REQUIRED IN ONE-FAMILY DWELLINGS.
   All newly constructed one-family dwellings, as permitted by Chapter 1266 of these Codified Ordinances, shall be equipped with smoke detectors prior to occupancy. As a condition of occupancy of residential dwellings, after the enactment of this section (Ordinance 1979-34, passed June 6, 1979), the purchaser thereof must see that smoke detectors are installed in the purchased dwelling. The type of smoke detector shall be at the discretion of the purchaser thereof, subject, however, to the approval of the Inspector of Buildings.
