290.02   CONTEMPT OF COURT.
   (a)   All persons appearing in the Mayor's Court shall engage in conduct appropriate for the proceedings, and shall not be unruly, disrespectful, discourteous, demeaning, disparaging, disruptive or belligerent during the Mayor's Court proceedings or in the presence of the Mayor's Court Magistrate. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of contempt of court.
   (b)   Any person who engages in the following conduct shall be in contempt of court:
      (1)   Disobedience of, resistance to, a lawful writ, process, order, rule, judgment or command of the Mayor's Court Magistrate or an officer of the Mayor's Court;
      (2)   Misbehavior of an officer of the Mayor's Court in the performance of his or her official duties or transactions;
      (3)   A failure to obey a subpoena duly served, or a refusal to be sworn or to affirm and answer as a witness, when lawfully required;
      (4)   The rescue, or attempted rescue, of a person or of property in the custody of an officer of the Mayor's Court, or the Magistrate;
      (5)   A failure upon the part of a person recognized to appear as a witness in the Mayor's Court to appear in compliance with the terms of his or her recognizance.
   (c)   The Mayor's Court Magistrate may summarily punish a person who is in violation of division (a) or (b) of this section, or who engages in misbehavior in the presence of the Mayor's Court Magistrate or so near the Mayor's Court so as to obstruct the administration of justice.
   (d)   Any person who violates any provision of division (a), (b) or (c) of this section shall be guilty of the crime of contempt of court, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree, punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) and a definite term of imprisonment of not more than 30 days, in jail, or both for a first offense; and for a second offense, a misdemeanor of the third degree punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) and a definite term of imprisonment of not more than 60 days in jail, or both.
