260.05   HOLIDAYS.
   (a)   Each full-time, non-bargaining employee shall be entitled to receive compensation at his or her regular rate of pay for eight hours for the following legal holidays (or the day recognized as such): New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Washington-Lincoln Day (Presidents' Day), Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, as well as the employee's birthday and three personal days.
   Any day declared to be a holiday by the Mayor and Council, by the Governor of the State of Ohio or by the President of the United States, following passage of this amendment, shall be added to the existing holiday schedule.

   (b)   Each new hire, full-time employee identified in subsection (a) hereof shall be entitled to personal days during the first calendar year employed based on the following schedule:
      (1)   If hired between January 1 and April 30, the full-time new hire will be given three personal days to be used that year.
      (2)   If hired between May 1 and August 31, the full-time new hire will be given two personal days to be used that year.
      (3)   If hired between September 1 and December 31, the full-time new hire will be given one personal day to be used that year.
      (4)   Any employee who retires from the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System or the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund and is rehired or re-employed by the Village in the same positon shall only be entitled to three personal days in the calendar year of their rehire.
   (c)   An additional personal day shall be allowed for the succeeding year for a full-time employee who works a full calendar year without taking any sick leave.

   (d)   No holidays or personal days may be carried over into the next year without the permission of the Mayor.
