260.02   FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME EMPLOYEE DEFINED.
   (a)   Salaries and compensation of full-time and regular part-time safety personnel. Notwithstanding any provisions of the Ohio Revised Code to the contrary, the Village of Walton Hills agrees to abide by all provisions contained in R.C. Chapter 4117, and permit its full-time and regular part-time safety personnel:
      (1)   The right to form, join or participate in any employee organization of their choosing.
      (2)   To bargain collectively with their public employer to determine wages, hours, terms, and other conditions of employment, and to enter into collective bargaining agreements.
      (3)   To engage in other lawful concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining, including arbitration, except that said employees are prohibited from engaging in any work stoppage or strike.
   (b)   Full-time and part-time employee defined. As used in these Codified Ordinances, unless otherwise expressly provided, a full-time employee is an employee who has been designated as a full-time employee by the hiring authority at the time of hiring or appointment, subject to confirmation by Council when such confirmation is required. A part-time employee is an employee who has been designated as a part-time employee by the hiring authority at the time of hiring or appointment, subject to confirmation by Council when such confirmation is required.
