A Patrolman, in addition to police duties assigned to him or her, shall, to the extent practicable, aid in the task of snow removal and road and other maintenance in the Village when so directed by the Chief of Police upon request of the Mayor or the Street Commissioner directed to the Chief of Police. However, if such work is required during the schedule of "off duty" hours of a full-time Patrolman, he or she shall receive compensation therefor in addition to his or her regular compensation.
