(a) The annual salary of each member of Council shall be as determined from time to time by Council. The member of Council who is elected President Pro Tem, in accordance with Section 220.03(a), shall receive additional compensation beyond such salary in an amount determined by Council.

(b) If, because of an injury or for health reasons, the Mayor of the Village is absent from his or her duties for seven consecutive days, the President Pro Tem shall receive the same compensation as the Mayor of the Village but will not receive his or her Counciperson's pay nor the additional sum as provided for in this section. The same salary shall remain until the Mayor returns to this office.
