§ 31.47 ASSISTANT CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (A)   If desired by the Chief of Police, the Chief of Police may select an officer from the police officers of the city to serve as the Assistant Chief of Police.
   (B)   An officer so selected as Assistant Police Chief must be an officer of the city in good standing, must meet the qualifications as set forth in 11 O.S. § 34-102, and shall assist the Chief of Police in the supervision and control of the Police Department in such manner and under such duties as directed by the Chief of Police.
   (C)   In the absence of or under the direction of the Chief of Police, the Assistant Chief shall command the Police Department and shall be held responsible therefor in all respects with all the full powers and responsibilities of the Chief of Police in his or her absence.
