Before entering upon their official duties, the members of the Council, City Manager, City Treasurer, City Clerk, all officers and employees of the city who handle money belonging to the city, and all police officers of the city shall provide bonds for the faithful performance of their official duties, payable to the city, with a surety company authorized to operate within the state, in such amount and with such conditions as the Council may prescribe.
