§ 54.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   HAZARDOUS WASTE. Any and all dangerous, toxic, or hazardous materials, including, without limitation, chemotherapeutic, radioactive, volatile, highly flammable, explosive, infectious, biological, hospital or other hazardous materials, including, without limitation, waste listed or characterized as hazardous by the United States Environmental Protection Agency or the USDH.
   NONHAZARDOUS WASTE. Only such waste and materials as are not dangerous, toxic, or hazardous and which are not hazardous waste as hereinabove defined. NONHAZARDOUS WASTE includes the following categories.
      (1)   COMMERCIAL WASTE. Waste that is typically generated by a commercial establishment, government office and facilities, and institutions.
      (2)   CONSTRUCTION/DEMOLITION WASTE. Waste resulting from construction or demolition activities.
      (3)   HOUSEHOLD BULKY WASTE. Waste materials generated by residents that are large, cumbersome, or heavy items that are normally not deposited into bags or boxes for disposal, including, without limitation, furniture, appliances, carpeting, mattresses, box springs, bicycles, and wood, metal, or yard waste.
      (4)   INDUSTRIAL WASTE. Waste that is typically generated by industrial, manufacturing, assembly and fabrication businesses, and the like.
      (5)   OTHER NONHAZARDOUS WASTE. Waste not falling within one of the foregoing categories of nonhazardous waste.
      (6)   RESIDENTIAL WASTE. Waste material that is typically generated by a residence.
   WASTE. All garbage, refuse, and trash found within the city, including, without limitation, kitchen and table scraps, offal, and every accumulation of animal and vegetable matter which attends the preparation, decay of, dealing in, or storage of meats, fruits, vegetables, and other provisions for subsistence, tree trimmings, junked building materials and roofing materials, manufacturing waste, rocks, dirt, paper, rags, containers of paper, tin cans, yard and house sweepings, and all other household waste, rubbish, ashes, and all discarded materials of any kind or nature, but does not include sewage, rain water, or other liquid refuse normally disposable safely through the sanitary sewers of the city.
