(A) New streets. The developer shall submit names for new sheets contained within proposed developments. Proposed streets obviously in alignment with existing streets shall be given the same name; in no other case shall the name of proposed streets duplicate existing street names within the county. The proposed name shall not be phonetically similar to existing names irrespective of suffix. All proposed new street names shall first be checked against the county EMS street name database. All new street names shall be approved by the Town Board of Commissioners.
(B) Existing streets. In no other case shall the proposed name duplicate existing street names within the county. The proposed name shall not be phonetically similar to existing names irrespective of suffix. Any proposed name change or assignment to an unnamed street shall first be checked against the county EMS street name database. Street name changes or assignments to an existing street shall be approved by the Town Board of Commissioners.
