(A) A person shall apply for any license required by this chapter prior to the first day of a new business operation or prior to May 1 of any year when the operation is ongoing.
(B) The application contains the following:
(1) The name of the applicant and whether the applicant is an individual, a partnership, a corporation or some other entity;
(2) The nature of the business;
(3) A contact person;
(4) Where the business is conducted, both physical and mailing addresses;
(5) A phone number;
(6) The date the business began, if pertinent;
(7) Whether the business is regulated by a state occupational licensing board subject to G.S. Chapter 93B, and if so, the serial number of the state license the applicant currently holds; and
(8) Any other information the tax collector determines to be necessary for town records or to compute the amount of tax due.
(C) It shall be the responsibility of the business operator to renew and maintain current privilege licenses. It shall not necessarily be the responsibility of the town to notify business owners of that need.
