§ 31.01 OATH.
   (A)   The Mayor, before entering upon the duties of his or her office, shall take and subscribe, before the officer authorized by law to administer oaths, an oath that he or she will duly and impartially, to the best of his or her skill and ability, cause to be executed all the laws, ordinances, and regulations for the government of the town and in the discharge of his or her duties do equal justice in all cases whatsoever.
   (B)   Each Council member, before entering on the duties of his or her office, shall take, before the Mayor, an oath that he or she will duly and impartially perform the duties of a Council member of the town, according to his or her best skill, ability and judgment.
   (C)   The Mayor, members of the Council, and all other officers who shall be elected or appointed to any office of trust or profit within the town shall take an oath, in addition to the ones hereinbefore set out, to support the Constitution of the United States and of the state.
