§ 30.077 HISTORICAL SOCIETY.
   (A)   Creation. There shall be created the Town Historical Society.

   (B)   Composition. The Town Historical Society shall be composed of nine members, five of whom shall be appointed by the President of the Town Council and four of whom shall be appointed by the Town Council. Of the five members to be appointed by the Town Council President, two of those members shall be appointed for a three-year term, two shall be appointed for a two-year term and the remaining appointment of the Town Council President shall be appointed for a one-year term. Of the four members appointed by the Town Council, one member shall be appointed to a three-year term, one member shall be appointed to a two-year term and two members shall be appointed for a one-year term. After the initial terms of the members, each shall be reappointed for terms of three years.

   (C)   Purpose. The purpose of the Town Historical Society shall be to preserve and protect the history of the Town and Town environs so as to provide future generations of the Town’s residents with a history of their community.

   (D)   Authority. The Town Historical Society will such lawful authority as may be necessary to perform those acts and fulfill those duties as may be required to fulfill the purposes of the Society.
