(A) Permit fees apply to all new construction and all alterations, repairs and remodeling.
(B) No person, company or corporation shall perform, or cause to be performed, work pertaining to any building or structure in the incorporated areas of the Town without obtaining a building permit from the Building Commissioner at the Clerk-Treasurer’s office.
(C) Where a person, company or corporation shall proceed to do any work on construction without a permit, the permit fees shall be tripled as a penalty. The payment of such a penalty shall not release the person, company or corporation in default from any other penalties hereafter provided.
(D) (1) Building permit fees. Refer to the Fee Schedule in Ch. 35 of this code of ordinances.
(2) Electrical permit fees. Refer to the Fee Schedule in Ch. 35 of this code of ordinances.
(a) Electrical permits issued and obtained prior to commencement of the work for which such permit is required, fees shall be levied. Refer to the Fee Schedule in Ch. 35 of this code of ordinances.
(b) If the exact number of circuits or horsepower is unknown at the time of application for a permit, a permit may be taken for the minimum amount known with new permits issued as the intent of the work known.
(3) Plumbing permits. For plumbing permits issued and obtained prior, to commencement of the work for which such permit is required, fees shall be levied. Refer to the Fee Schedule in Ch. 35 of this code of ordinances.
(4) Heating and air conditioning permits. For heating and air conditioning permits issued and obtained prior to commencement of that work for which such permit is required, fees shall be levied. When the total capacity of any system in any single installation is provided by more than one unit, the sum of the capacities of each, unit and the total number of such units shall determine the fee. Refer to the Fee Schedule in Ch. 35 of this code of ordinances.
(5) Remolding, alterations and repairs over $1,000 and pool installations. Refer to the Fee Schedule in Ch. 35 of this code of ordinances.
(6) Miscellaneous. Refer to the Fee Schedule in Ch. 35 of this code of ordinances.
(E) The fees for electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning permits are all in addition to the fees for new construction, additions, remodeling, alterations and repairs over $1,000 and pool installations.
