For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
TAXICAB. Any motorized vehicle carrying passengers for hire upon the streets and public ways of the Town, except those vehicles lawfully authorized to operate under and by virtue of a certificate or permit duly granted with by the Public Service Commission of the state or the Interstate Commerce Commission of the United States.
TAXICAB SERVICE. The business or occupation of operating taxicabs and furnishing taxicab service to the public.
