For the purpose of this traffic code, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DEPARTMENT. The Department of Motor Vehicles of the State of Indiana.
OPERATOR. Includes the driver or rider of any vehicle, as defined herein.
OWNER. The last known record title holder to a vehicle according to the records of the Department under the provisions of I.C. 9-13-2-121.
PARK. Includes the leaving or standing, attended of any vehicle in any street, as defined herein, within the Town.
PERSONS. Every natural person, firm, corporation, co-partnership or association.
POLICE OFFICER. Every officer authorized to direct or regulate traffic or make arrests for violations of traffic violations.
PRIVATE PREMISES. All privately owned property which is not classified within the definition of “public premises”.
PUBLIC AGENCY. The department of local government which is assigned the local responsibility to adopt local regulations concerning public premises.
PUBLIC PREMISES. Any public right-of-way, street, highway, alley, park or other state, county or municipally owned property.
STREET. The entire width between the boundary lines of every way publicly maintained when any part thereof is open to the use of public for purposes of vehicular traffic. The term includes an alley.

VEHICLE. Any motor vehicle, automobile, motorcycle, truck, trailer, semi-trailer, truck-trailer, bus, school bus, house car or motored bicycle or any other mode of motorized transportation.
