Pursuant to published notice and public hearing, as required by law, the National Electric Code (NFPA-70) as adopted and amended by the State of Iowa is hereby adopted by reference as the electrical code for the City of Walcott, Iowa, subject to the amendments and adoptions by the State of Iowa. Fees for permitting shall be as required as adopted in the City of Walcott Permit Fee Schedule. The National Electrical Code as adopted and amended by the State of Iowa, is further amended as follows:
1. Minimum size of conductors.
The minimum size of conductors for feeders and branch circuits shall be 12 AWG and 10 AWG aluminum.

2. Exposed nonmetallic sheathed cable shall be protected to a height of eight feet (8') above the floor by approved methods.
