The Village Administrator shall be appointed by the Mayor of the Village, but that appointment does not become effective until approved by a majority vote of Council. The appointment of the Village Administrator shall be for a probationary period of six months continuous service beginning after the date of appointment and confirmation by Council. The Village Administrator need not be an elector of the Village or reside in the Village. The Village Administrator may be removed without cause either by the Mayor with the consent of a majority of the members of Council or by a three-fourths vote of Council with or without the consent of the Mayor.
