(a) (1) It shall be unlawful for any minor under the age of sixteen to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play or otherwise be upon the public streets, parks, playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the following day.
(2) It shall be unlawful for any minor between the ages of sixteen and eighteen to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play or otherwise be upon the public streets, parks, playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment between the hours of 12 midnight to 6:00 a.m. on the following day.
(b) (1) It shall be unlawful for the parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of a minor under the age of sixteen to knowingly or otherwise permit said minor child to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play or otherwise be upon the public streets, parks, playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the following day.
(2) It shall be unlawful for the parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of a minor between the ages of sixteen and eighteen to knowingly or otherwise permit said minor child to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play or otherwise be upon the public streets, parks, playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment between the hours of 12 midnight to 6:00 a.m. on the following day.
(c) The provisions of subsections (a) and (b) hereof do not apply when the minor is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor or where the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate business directed by his or her parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of said minor child.
(d) Any minor violating the provisions of subsection (a) hereof shall be dealt with in accordance with the Ohio Juvenile Law and the procedures of the Huron County Juvenile Court. Each violation shall constitute a separate offense.
(e) Any parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of a minor violating subsection (b) hereof shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Each violation shall constitute a separate offense. (Ord. 1996-0-22. Passed 5-13-96.)
