145.04 VACATIONS.
   (a)   All full-time Village employees shall receive the following paid vacation allowance based upon total length of service with the Village. The schedule for accrual of vacation leave is as follows:
 
1-4 years employment
80 hours vacation
(10 days for salaried employees)
5-9 years employment
96 hours vacation
(12 days for salaried employees)
10-14 years employment
120 hours vacation
(15 days for salaried employees)
15 years plus employment
160 hours vacation
(20 days for salaried employees)
   (b)   All full time Village employees shall have the option to take vacation pay in lieu of time off for any portion or all of their vacation allowance. Vacation time may not be carried over from year to year. Further, all full time Village employees shall have the option to take their vacation in hourly or daily increments or in continuous succession. Each full time Village employee shall notify their supervisor, in writing, relative to taking vacation time as follows: not less than twenty-four hours in advance of taking their vacation in hourly increments; not less than seventy-two hours in advance of taking any vacation in daily increments and not less than one month in advance of taking their vacation in continuous succession. The employee’s supervisor is authorized to approve or disapprove each vacation period and to adjust vacation schedules when necessary to avoid undue hardship on the Village. However, the employee’s supervisor shall not unreasonably withhold approval of any employee’s request for vacation. The following are the designated supervisors for giving notice as provided herein:
      (1)   Supervisor for all department heads shall be the Mayor; and
      (2)   Supervisor for all other employees shall be the department head under which the particular employee reports to or works for.
   (c)   Part time employees shall receive no paid vacation allowance.
