(a) No person shall either:
(1) Carry about his person in a motor vehicle, or have ready at hand in a motor vehicle, or carry concealed on or about his person, possess for sale, sell or furnish to any person other than a law enforcement agent for authorized use in police work, any brass knuckles, cestus, billy, blackjack, sandbag, switchblade knife, springblade knife, gravity knife and/or spring loaded weapon capable of propelling a knife or knife-like projectile, including, but not limited to, a ballistic knife (sometimes referred to commonly as a "KGB knife") or other similar weapons and/or advanced martial arts weapons including but not limited to shurikan, shaken, nunchaku, sword, knife, tonfa, kama and sai and/or other similar weapons; or
(2) Knowingly fail to report to law enforcement authorities forthwith the loss or theft of any firearm or dangerous ordnance in such person's possession or under his control.
(b) As used in subsection (a)(1) hereof, "cestus" means a hand covering of leather bands often loaded with lead or iron or some other hard material.
(c) As used in subsection (a)(1) hereof, the following designated martial arts weapons, if such weapons are/were designed, manufactured and/or marketed as a martial arts weapon, are defined as follows:
(1) "Shurikan" means a needlelike spike or knife made of a hard material, including, but not limited to wood, metal or plastic, the size of which can vary from three (3) inches to eight (8) inches in length.
(2) "Shaken" means a throwing star made of a hard material, including but not limited to wood, metal or plastic, generally containing two (2) to ten (10) jagged, pointed edges.
(3) "Nunchaku" means two (2) pieces of hard material, including but not limited to wood, metal or plastic, generally equal in size and weight, held together by a piece of string, leather, chain, cord or rope.
(4) "Sword" means a weapon with a long blade for cutting or thrusting.
(5) "Knife" means a weapon consisting of a single or double-edged short blade for cutting or throwing.
(6) "Tonfa" means a shaft made of hard material, including but not limited to wood, metal or plastic, which measures about seventeen (17) inches in length with a handle approximately four and one-half (4-1/2) inches in length affixed to the shaft; weapon has a short handle for grasping connected to a perpendicular handle.
(7) "Kama" means an instrument consisting of a handle with a long curved single edged blade affixed at the end of the handle.
(8) "Sai" means a piece of steel or heavy metal that is approximately twelve (12) inches in length with a pointed or blunted end and two (2) prongs that extend down from the blade to form a handle; a triple-point weapon.
(d) Whoever violates this section is guilty of unlawful transactions in weapons. Violations of subsection (a)(1) hereof is a misdemeanor of the second degree. Violation of subsection (a)(2) hereof is a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
