(a) No person shall discharge a firearm within the Village.
(b) The following persons are exempt from the provisions of subsection (a) hereof:
(1) Any persons discharging a firearm in defense of themselves, their family or property;
(2) Waite Hill Village police officers in the course and scope of their employment; and
(3) Other law enforcement officers who are assisting the Village pursuant to a request for assistance by the Mayor or Chief of Police.
(c) It shall be a violation of this section for any owner or person in control and possession of real property in the Village to knowingly permit the discharge of a firearm upon the real property of such owner in violation of subsection (a) hereof.
(d) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
