131.01 EMERGENCY POLICE RESPONSE OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE.
    (a)    Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 9.60, as amended, Council hereby authorizes the Mayor, or in his absence the Police Chief, to render the services of the Police Department to other municipalities, townships, counties or the State, in times of emergency, whether or not the Village has entered into mutual aid contracts for police services with any of those political subdivisions or the State. The determination of times of emergency shall be made only by the Mayor, or in his absence the Police Chief, upon a call for emergency police protection services by the State or any political subdivision of the State.
   (b)    The members of the Police Department rendering emergency services to other political subdivisions shall, as provided by State law, be entitled to all of their usual wages and benefits, be covered by workers compensation and shall be immune from any liability arising from the reasonable good faith rendering of emergency police protection services.
