(A) No person shall hereafter engage in or work at the business of HVAC installation and repair in the city until he or she shall have been licensed as an HVAC contractor. Application for licensing shall be made in writing to the Building Inspector, showing the name of the applicant, the business location of the applicant, and such other information as may be required.
(B) The provision of this subchapter relating to HVAC contractors shall not apply to any public utility company or companies serving the city and its inhabitants under a franchise agreement with the city, or its agents and employees and shall not be construed as a limitation or restriction upon any franchises heretofore granted by the city.
