§ 111.02  LICENSING REQUIREMENTS; EXAMINATION; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   Before the applicant shall be licensed as a master plumber he or she shall submit to an examination to determine his or her fitness and competency to engage in the business of a master plumber which examination shall be given by the Building Inspector as hereinafter provided.  Upon the payment of the required licensing fee, as set by resolution of the City Council, such applicant, after having by said examination shown himself or herself to the satisfaction of the Building Inspector to be fit, competent, and qualified to engage in the business of a master plumber and having gained final approval from the City Council, shall be licensed and given a certificate of licensing signed by the City Clerk.
   (B)   The examination shall consist of two parts:
      (1)   Written examination which shall count as 50% percent;
      (2)   Personal interview and past experience, which shall count as 50% percent.
   (C)   The examination shall be passed to the satisfaction of the Building Inspector.  A grade of 70%  shall be considered as passing.  A licensing fee, as set by resolution of the City Council, shall be paid to the City Clerk upon application for a license, prior to the issuance of said examination.
   (D)   The Building Inspector may, at his or her discretion, waive the written examination requirement.  This may only be done where an applicant is requesting a limited license, as for outdoor lawn sprinkler installations, water softener installations or sewer and septic system installations.  The Building Inspector may, through a personal interview and review of the applicant's past experience, determine the applicant to be fit, competent, and qualified to engage in the limited business as stated in the application for licensing.  After gaining approval by the Building Inspector and final approval from the City Council, said applicant shall be licensed and given a certificate of limited licensing signed by the City Clerk.  Said certificate shall clearly state the limit of the license as stated on the application.
