ORDINANCE 2020 – 1083
VILLAGE OF WADSWORTH, ILLINOIS
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE CODE REGARDING LIQUOR LICENSES
WHEREAS, the Village of Wadsworth is a non-home rule municipality located in Lake County, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Illinois Liquor Control Act, the Village has the power by general ordinance to regulate the sale of alcoholic beverages within its jurisdiction; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Illinois Liquor Control Act, the Village has adopted liquor regulations as codified in Title 3 of the Wadsworth Village Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Village desires to amend the Village’s liquor regulations to provide for changing the amount of local liquor licenses that are available to places of business within the Village.
   BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF WADSWORTH, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1.     RECITALS.        The recitals listed above are incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.
SECTION 2.     AMENDMENT.        Section 3-1-4-J of the Code of the Village of Wadsworth is added to read as follows:
J. Number Of Licenses: The following shall be the number of licenses to be issued: There shall be issued no more than four (4) class A licenses; one (1) class B licenses; five (5) class C licenses; zero class D licenses; two (2) class E licenses; two (2) class F licenses; one class G license; two (2) class H licenses; and, one (1) class I license.  Upon revocation, forfeiture, nonrenewal, voluntary surrender or termination (pursuant to subsection 3-1-3I and section 3-1-11 of this chapter) of an existing license of any class A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H or I license, the number of licenses available for such class shall automatically be reduced accordingly and then this subsection shall be deemed to be amended in conformance with such reduction.
 
SECTION 3SEVERABILITY.        If any section, paragraph, clause, or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the invalidity thereof will not affect any of the other provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4CONFLICT.        All Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict.
SECTION 7.  EFFECTIVE DATE.     This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
