11-1-2: PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENTS:
Planned unit developments within the Village shall be governed first by the applicable provisions of Section 10-5-6 of this Code. As to such planned unit developments, the standards contained in this Title shall be considered directory, not mandatory. To permit flexible development, consistent with the site, and in exchange for a greater level of site amenities, such as extraordinary landscaping, ponds, and oversize parks, planned unit developments may deviate from these subdivision standards to the extent consistent with sound planning and the health and welfare of the citizenry. The approved final development plan, as provided in Section 10-5-6 of this Code shall consist of the final planned unit development plat and the final planned unit development ordinance. To the extent reasonably possible, planned unit developments shall comply with the provisions of this Title, except for normal and customary deviations, such as lot size, but not overall density. Planned unit developments, which are located outside of the territorial limits of the Village, shall strictly comply with the applicable standards of this Title. (Ord. 96-445, 7-2-1996)
