The enclosure of any open existing or proposed drainage ditch or swale shall be in conformance with the site development drawing. The drainage enclosure pipe and drainage structures shall be constructed in conformance with the following specifications:
A. Drainage ditch enclosure shall only be permitted where the existing or proposed ditch bottom is greater than twenty four inches (24") below the edge of the pavement.
B. The pipe shall be constructed with the invert elevation thereof at the normal or proposed flow line of the ditch or as recommended by the village.
C. Pipe size shall be of the diameter specified by the village but no less than twelve inches (12") internal diameter.
D. Pipe shall be constructed of the following materials:
1. ABS sewer pipe or PVC sewer pipe ASTM D2751 (SDR35) or ASTM D3034 (SDR35). Drill holes at two foot (2') centers.
2. PVC underdrain pipe ASTM D2729 (SDR35).
E. The pipe shall be bedded in a three-fourths inch (3/4") washed gravel (CA5) to a minimum thickness of four inches (4") on all sides.
F. The washed gravel bedding shall be encircled with an approved geotechnical (soils) filter fabric.
G. A surface drainage swale shall be constructed over the proposed enclosure pipe to allow for surface drainage water to flow away from the edge of pavement unobstructed. The surface drainage shall be constructed a minimum of five feet (5') away from and nine inches (9") below the edge of payment. The swale shall be maintained in accordance with section 8-4-5 of this chapter.
