8-2-2: LAPSE OF PERMIT; REPLACEMENT PERMITS:
   A.   Term Of Permit: All building permits shall lapse and be of no further force and effect two (2) years from date of issuance.
   B.   Replacement Permit; Fee:
      1.   Replacement Permit Required: In the event that the construction for which the permit had been issued has not been completed and an occupancy permit, if required, issued within the two (2) year period, the permittee shall apply for and secure a replacement permit.
      2.   Fee: The fee for the replacement permit shall be equal to the fee paid for the original permit. For good cause shown, such as circumstances not reasonably within the control of the permittee, and if substantial progress has been done on the construction, the Building Commissioner may reduce the fee for the first replacement permit to fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the original permit fee.
      3.   Term: The replacement permit shall lapse and be of no further force and effect one year from date of issuance.
   C.   Additional Replacement Permits; Fee:
      1.   Additional Replacement Permit Required: In the event the construction for which the replacement permit had been issued has not been completed and an occupancy permit, if required, issued within the one year period, successive one year replacement permits shall be secured until the work is completed and an occupancy permit, if required, shall have been issued.
      2.   Fee: The fee for replacement permits, other than the first replacement permit, shall be equal to twice the permit fee for the original permit.
   D.   Existing Building Permit: Any existing building permit which was issued more than two (2) years prior to the adoption of this section for construction which has not yet been completed, and an occupancy permit, if required, issued, shall lapse and be of no further force and effect six (6) months from the date of adoption of this section.
