A. Structural insulated panels (SIP) are hereby permitted for single-family residence home construction subject to the following:
1. SIP shall be limited to roof construction in timber frame construction homes only.
2. The SIP material and application shall be approved by an Illinois licensed architect or structural engineer.
3. The SIP material and application must conform with all applicable criteria and conditions in the 1999 edition of the BOCA national building code or such later edition as the village may from time to time adopt by reference and must be specifically approved by BOCA or have an approved national evaluation report by National Evaluation Service, Inc., or such other entity which is specifically approved and recognized by BOCA.
4. The SIP material and application must strictly conform with all conditions of use set forth in said evaluation report. (Ord. 2007-737, 8-21-2007, eff. 10-1-2007)
